Methodist Men's ClubWhat Is The Methodist Men's Club? Founded in 1954, the Methodist Men's club is a way for the men of the church to get together and fellowship. Today the we don't look at ourselves as a club but rather a family that reaches out to other men of the church. The Methodist Men's Club chooses to become leaders b becoming followers of Christ. What Does The Methodist Men's Club Do At Their Meetings? The Methodist Men gather the third Sunday morning of every month from October to May in the church Fellowship Hall at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. After breakfast we usually have a guest speaker giving a program. Sometimes these programs can be fun, informative, and/or spiritual in nature. We finish in time for those who attend the 8:30 service to be there on time. There are no dues, but we do ask members to that attend the breakfast to pay $5.00 (typically) to cover the cost of the meal. What Does The Club Do For The Church? Our one and only fundraiser is our peanut sale. The Methodist Men's Club cooks and places peanuts into jars for sale several times a year. With our expert cooking crew we prepare and package the pre-shelled peanuts into jars for sale. Several businesses and vendors around town have agreed to sell our peanuts. for several years now we have only sold Salted and No Salt peanuts. This year we have come out with our newest flavor... "Spicy". you should taste them they are excellent. This project is very quick and simple. It is amazing how easy it is to cook and jar peanuts. The money we raise always goes back into the church and it's membership to help support its growth. Who Can Be A Member? All adult men of the church are automatically a member of the Men's Club. We encourage you to attend, have breakfast, and fellowship with us. |
