The Oxford United Methodist Church began a quality preschool in the fall of 1995. The Learning Tree Preschool has grown to accommodate a 2, 3, and 4-year-old program. The hours are from 8:30am until 12:00noon.
	The school uses a whole language approach tied to weekly thematic units for teaching and learning. A typical day at The Learning Tree includes free play and teacher-directed instruction. During the free play period, children make controlled choices about their activities. This a time when children explore, discover, touch, create, pretend, and interact with other children.
The teacher-directed activities include music, drama, language development, science and art activities. These activities are offered in a warm and loving Christian environment with a goal of fostering positive and enthusiastic attitudes towards learning.
